About Us

Unlike most construction companies, our owner Tom is the lead man on every job site. He is always available if you have any issues and encourages every customer to approach him at any time to express questions or concerns.

Tom graduated from vocational technical high school in 1980 and immediately began working professionally as a carpenter. After mastering his craft, he decided to branch out on his own and founded Figueiredo Carpenter & Custom Builder in 1987. 

Tom and his team of carpenters continue to practice the classic carpentry methods he was taught by old-school artisans — techniques that emphasize quality construction and proven building methods developed by generations of skilled craftsmen. His approach was shaped by mentors who were true artisan builders and colleagues Tom has had the pleasure of working alongside throughout his career. 

Since the company’s founding, Tom has never turned down a job for being too large or too small. Whether you need new locks installed, a historic home carefully restored, or a home built from the ground up, Figueiredo Carpenter & Custom Builder approaches every project with the same level of care, skill, and attention to detail.
